An early English translation that tells the story of the legendary figure Tannhauser, depicting him as both a Minnesinger (a medieval German poet-musician) and a Knight Templar during the era of the Third and Fourth Crusades. Both volumes hardcover in deep red with a gilt decoration of a knight Templar on cover. Light shelfwear and the white coloring of a castle depicted on the spine of Volume 2 has faded but the boards are still deep red.
